Study Missions

Study Mission

To enhance the strengths of SMEs in the logistics supply chain and digital transformation, and to maintain international competitiveness, the Hong Kong Shippers’ Council will organize a one-day study mission on November 29, 2024 (Friday). Participants will visit Luen Tai Hong Kong Fresh Liquid Eggs Limited and China Merchants Godown, Wharf & Transportation Co., Ltd., gaining insights into how local enterprises are upgrading their production lines and implementing digital transformation in their logistics supply chains.

This event is organised by the Hong Kong Shippers' Council, implemented by the Hong Kong Productivity Council and funded by the Trade and Industry Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government's Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund.

Luen Tai Hong Kong Fresh Liquid Eggs Limited 
With the rapid advancement of technology, digitization has emerged as a significant trend across industries. Innovative technologies have facilitated the upgrading and transformation of traditional industries in Hong Kong. Luen Tai Hong Kong Fresh Liquid Eggs Limited has transitioned from manual operations to intelligent production. In 2022, the second-generation Managing Director, Mr. Yeung Kam-yim, successfully secured government funding and signed a collaboration agreement with the Hong Kong Productivity Council. This partnership led to the establishment of Hong Kong's first intelligent production line for fresh liquid eggs at Tai Po InnoPark, with a production capacity of nearly 70 tonnes per day. The product is supplied to hundreds of cake shops and restaurant chains throughout Hong Kong, showcasing the potential of innovative manufacturing.

China Merchants Godown, Wharf & Transportation Co., Ltd.,
The company primarily engages in logistics supply chain services, including warehousing, terminal operations, freight loading and unloading, splitting and processing, and packaging. For over 20 years, the company has consistently provided high-quality services to its customers, guided by a reputation for integrity and a commitment to professionalism. This dedication has earned recognition from the community and praise from clients. The company boasts a large, column-free, air-conditioned warehouse with a storage area of 494,736 square feet and a capacity of 55,000 tons. The warehouse maintains a temperature range of 13°C to 19°C and a relative humidity range of 60% to 80%, making it suitable for storing food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, dried fruits, and more. Currently, this facility accounts for over 50% of the total rice storage capacity in Hong Kong.
